Gerard Schoren is not only the singer and double bass player of the Charivari trio, but also the conductor and artistic director of Volver, a choir for South American music. In Wageningen he conducts the Volkooren Choir and in Nijmegen the Jewish choir Hatikwa. He writes most of the arrangements for these choirs. He also gives singing workshops based on the simple world music repertoire. Gerard is the double bass player of the Nederlands Begeleidingsorkest and plays in the Ensemble Conservatoire, two classical orchestras that focus on accompanying choirs. In September 2020 he took the initiative for the Punteo Latino Ensemble, in which South American music is played on plucked string instruments.
